Then you don't have to wait any longer, because Slam Dunk manga creator Takehiko Inoue announced on Twitter yesterday, February 1, that the film The First Slam Dunk is out already.

Inoue is the genius behind one of the most-popular anime series in the Philippines, which was part of GMA-7's Astig Authority lineup.

In a report by The Korea Times, the original Slam Dunk manga sold over 170 million copies, making it the seventh best-selling manga in history.

Takehiko also expressed his gratitude for all Filipino fans of Slam Dunk.

He tweeted, “I'm happy to say 'THE FIRST SLAM DUNK' movie is coming out today in the Philippines! Thank you for all your support. Whether you know the manga or not, please enjoy "THE FIRST" #SLAMDUNK”
