Pambansang Kamao Manny Pacquiao wrote a heartfelt message of thanks to all who showed their support during his fight against Cuban boxer Yordenis Ugas on Instagram earlier today.
The Pinoy boxer lost the WBA super welterweight title to Ugas via unanimous decision yesterday, August 22 (Philippine time).
The professional fighter wrote in the caption, “I want to thank God for giving me the strength to fight.
“I thank my family for always standing beside me.”
He also sent his congratulatory greeting to his opponent and wished him all the best.
Manny continued, “I wish to congratulate Ugas and his team. Although I hoped for a different outcome, I wish him the best.
“Thank you to the fans all around the world who were watching. Thank you to every Filipino that has ever supported me. I'm so proud to represent my country.
“I'm sorry I could not give you a win, but I did my very best.
“From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU! God bless you all! Mabuhay!”
Despite his defeat, local celebrities and personalities continued to show their utmost support for the Pinoy pride through heartwarming messages.
“You are the G.O.A.T! Mahal ka namin Ninong Champ Idol Senator @mannypacquiao! God bless you always,” wrote Kapuso star Rodjun Cruz.
On the other hand, local musician and celebrity dad Gary Valenciano penned a lengthy message for the Pambansang Kamao.
He wrote, “The impact and inspiration you've given all of us goes much deeper into our hearts than you know. Salamat champ!!! It really is what you are. You've fought and have been fighting the battles of life.
“And by humbly giving God all the glory, I believe in His eyes you really are His champ on and off that ring. God bless you more bro Manny. We love you!”
Recently, Manny's wife, Jinkee Pacquiao, also wrote a meaningful and heartfelt message for her beloved spouse after losing to the Cuban boxer.
In July, Jinkee, along with her five children, namely, Michael, Jimuel, Queenie, Princess, and Israel, flew to the United States to show their support for Manny in his fight.
