Manny Pacquiao emerges victorious against South Korean DK Yoo
People's Champ Manny Pacquiao has won against South Korean martial artist DK Yoo during their six-round exhibition match held on Sunday, December 11, at the Korea International Exhibition Center in South Korea.
Pacquiao dominated the first two rounds of the match, showing multiple combinations and strong body shots against DK Yoo. DK Yoo made a strong impact against Pacquiao during the fourth round but wasn't able to tackle the Pinoy boxing champ.
“It's nice to be back in the ring especially in this charity exhibition match and I'm going to continue my training to be back in shape,” said Pacquiao during his press interview after the match.
After his fight, Pacquiao thanked South Korea for its hospitality. He included a photo of him dining with wife Jinkee Pacquiao.
He wrote, "Thank you South Korea for your hospitality!"
The eight-division world boxing champion officially retired from boxing in 2021. His fight with DK Yoo is billed as a special charity match, with proceeds donated to the victims of the war in Ukraine as well as Pacquiao's housing project for the homeless in the Philippines.
