Margot Robbie is set to play the most famous doll in the world, and to meet the requirements of the job, the Hollywood actress makes sure she sticks to a strict diet to maintain her figure.
How does she do it?
Well, according to her latest interview with Women's Health UK, Margot keeps it lean and clean by eating little carbs and no sweets.
She tells the publication, “Breakfast is usually porridge, and during the morning, I'll have an immunity-boosting smoothie.
“I'll normally have a chicken salad for lunch, and for dinner, I'll tuck into a tuna steak with sweet potato.”
“Throughout the day, I'll sip on tea -- I've been obsessed with it ever since I've lived in the UK.”
Now living in the U.S. with husband Tom Ackerly, the Wolf of Wall Street star admits to living a little on beef burgers and beer.
“Food is a big thing for me. I love burgers and fries, which I'll order with a pint of beer.
“In the US, my favorite meal is a double truffle burger from the American chain Umami Burger: it comes with a truffle cheese fondue, truffle aioli, and truffle glaze,”
Aside from eating healthy, Margot also mentions working out whenever she can.
Her favorite workout these days? Pilates.
“I really got into Pilates when I moved to LA [in 2013] and always feel a lot better after a good stretch.
“I found boxing sessions and fighting practice for 'Suicide Squad' really fun, but quickly realized I wasn't so much of a fan of lifting weights.
“When I'm not preparing for a role, I prefer to do workouts I really like, such as dance classes or playing tennis with friends.”
It was in December 2020 when news came out that Margot would be playing the role of Barbie in a live-action film.
In an interview for The Hollywood Reporter, Margot revealed that the Barbie flick is going to give audiences the “thing you didn't know you wanted” and that it's going to put a contemporary spin on the famous plastic doll.
She said, “The name itself, people immediately have an idea of, 'Oh, Margot is playing Barbie, I know what that is,' but our goal is to be like, 'Whatever you're thinking, we're going to give you something totally different -- the thing you didn't know you wanted'
“Now, can we truly honor the IP and the fan base and also surprise people? Because if we can do all that and provoke a thoughtful conversation, then we're really firing on all cylinders.”
Though the plot of the film remains to be unknown, Margot assures viewers: “All we can say is whatever you're thinking, it's not that.”
