“I love Jaya po and Ms. Regine Velasquez-Alcasid. I [also] look up to Kyla, kasi [ang laki] po talaga [ng naging contribution nula sa] OPM so respect po talaga,” she said.

The Philippines’ Pop Princess is also someone she takes inspiration from.

“I [also] want to be [like] Sarah Geronimo.  [All of them are the reasons why] I’m trying to become a singer na talagang mahusay at nagta-touch ng puso ng tao,” she added.

Marika recognizes that she still has a long way to go in her career, and makes sure she gives nothing short of her best in all her showbiz endeavors.

“Not everybody is given a chance to sing in the Playlist and I’m here right now. Thankful [po] ako. Umaawap po talaga yung pasasalamat ko sa Panginoon [at] sa GMA,” she concluded.
