Mariz Umali on her Mommy Mila: “You were and will always be, the most beautiful part of my world Mommy ko.”

Unang Hirit host Mariz Umali and her whole family were devastated with the death of their dearest mom, Milagros Bade Umali or Mommy Mila, last September 22 at the age of 79.

According to Mariz's Instagram post announcing her mom's death, Mommy Mila was receiving treatment after being diagnosed with cancer.

“It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved mother (my dearest loving Mommy ko, my bestest friend, my life, my everything) and lifetime partner of our Papa Rey, Mommy Mila, has joined our Creator this morning - 09/22/24. She had a tough fight with cancer and its complications,” the Kapuso news anchor shared.

“We mourn her sudden loss but we remain steadfast in knowing that she devoted her life into introducing us and living her life for the Sacred Heart of Jesus and our dearest Mama Mary.

“Mommy, ang sakit sakit sakit. But we take comfort in the fact that there's no more pain for you anymore. God knows how much we truly truly love you and we will miss you forever, Mommy ko. Ma, sobra kong mamimiss pagmasdan ang maganda mong mukha at pakinggan ang sarap ng tawa mo. I love you so so so much, Mommy ko,” she wrote.

In another post on Instagram last September 30, the wife of GMA Integrated News seasoned reporter Raffy Tima then talked about the things she missed about her Mommy Mila.

Mariz said, “Umaga na naman… I am in so much pain and deep anguish especially in the mornings, Ma. I miss u sooo much, I miss hugging you, I miss kissing you, I miss talking to you, listening to you, hearing your sweet laughter, I miss seeing you, I miss everything about you, Mommy ko. Napakasakit Ma kasi we were already halfway through your immunotherapy and you were doing well. Pero di na natin natapos.”

She disclosed that they were positive that her Mommy Mila would be discharged from the hospital, after the good results of recent tests.

“Napakasakit Ma kasi padischarge ka na dapat eh. Sabi ng doctors they were already signing your discharge papers, just waiting for a few more test results and you were good to go. Madidischarge ka pala hindi kasama namin nila Papa, Moi and Don sa bahay…Madidischarge ka na pala sa langit. Napakasakit Ma na makita ka during your final moments. Pero ayoko rin naman mamiss yun. Pasalamat ako sa Diyos na hawak kita the entire time when you were being resuscitated at na-annoint ka pa twice…ng dalawang pari before you passed on. Napakasakit Ma kasi nagnenegotiate pako kay God. Sabi ko forever ako magseserve sa simbahan, dagdagan Mo pa po sana Panginoon ang buhay ni Mommy. I will always remember you Mommy ko…Very gentle yet very strong…Frugal but very generous…Minsan mataray at maldita (sabi mo gaya ko) but very kind…My number one fan but also my Superstar,” Mariz expressed.

“Thank you so much for your endless and unconditional love for the family. My heart truly aches as I say goodbye to you, Mommy ko. You were and will always be, the most beautiful part of my world Mommy ko.”
