Leon Barretto graduated from college a few days after Marjorie Barretto's university graduation.
August 2025 is a special month for the family of Marjorie Barretto as she not only graduated from college, but her son, Leon, also received his college degree a few days after.
Marjorie is a proud mom as she posted on Instagram snaps from Leon's college graduation, attended by her and Leon's sisters, Dani and Julia.
"As his mother, it was always important to me that he finish his studies -- because I know that as a man, it means carrying the responsibility of being strong, capable, and one day, a good provider for his own family," the celebrity mom said in the caption.
Marjorie penned her appreciation for Leon for "honoring their wishes."
Leon graduated from the University of Asia and the Pacific with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrated Marketing Communication.
"I watched you study so hard, sometimes too hard that I had to remind you to rest. Yesterday, all your sacrifices shine through -- you made us so proud. Your sisters are just as proud of you, cheering you on every step of the way," she added.
Marjorie also thanked Julia in the latter part of her caption.
"A very special thank you to Julia -- you didn't have to, but you lovingly took it upon yourself to help put Leon through school. Seeing you beam with pride in his graduation was a beautiful reminder of family and love," she said.
A few days ago, Marjorie finished college and got her degree at the Philippine Women's University at 51 years old.
In her caption, she said, "For years, finishing college was a dream tucked away -- paused for show business, raising children, public service, business, and building a life. But God never forgot. In His perfect time, He gave me the courage to return, the strength to push through, and the joy of crossing this finish line."
Marjorie expressed that the "sweetest part" of her graduation was having her children witness it.
"A moment so surreal, a full circle moment," she said.
Leon also shared a congratulatory post on Marjorie's graduation and posted photos of the two of them wearing their respective toga caps and gowns.
"[N]ot a lot of people can say they graduated college the same year as their mom. [I]t's really never too late--congratulations, mom! [T]ruly an inspiration to my siblings and me," he mused.
