Marjorie Barretto speaks up for daughter Julia Barretto amid statement from estranged father Dennis Padilla
Marjorie Barretto has spoken up to defend daughter Julia Barretto soon after Dennis Padilla said in a now deleted Instagram post that he worked so hard in the past to support Julia.
In a post including Julia's photo, Marjorie wrote in the caption, "Dearest Jul, I LOVE you with the kind of love that you can trust. Love that you can depend on, and the kind that will protect you and never betray you.
"Maybe you need to hear this today… I am so proud of you, Juli. I am so blessed to be able to call you my child. Here we go again, back in our family bubble shutting off the noise outside.
"Only choosing to be grateful for the good things that are in front of us. Remember Jul, God is all knowing."
Actor Dennis Padilla took to social media to air his sentiments after a vlog from Karen Davila featuring Julia Barretto made rounds on the internet.
In the said vlog, Julia mentioned she couldn't run to her own father for support when life was hard.
Julia mentioned, "You know, I kinda just want to huminga lang muna from that cycle. And, you know, I've just been praying also na, I don't know, maybe in God's time and way na, you know, mag-meet kami in the middle without having to get hurt again."
Julia also revealed that Dennis has tried to reach out.
"I won't lie, I mean, he's tried. I'm just really not ready. I don't wanna force myself also because if you force yourself, then it's not genuine, hindi siya totoo. So, I want to get to a point na when we speak, it's when I'm ready," Julia said.
Dennis clapped back after the vlog was uploaded via several posts, but soon took down them down.
He said, "Ako ang dapat takbuhan mo Julia..I defended you pero nagalit pa kayo sa akin. Sobra kayo..ano etong mga kuwento mo kay Karen?”
"Ang buong bahay ko...ang halaga katumbas lang ng isang kotse mo Julia. Ano pang revenge ang gusto niyong gawin? Lahat ng blessings nasa inyo na...
"Humingi ako ng apology sa mga pagkukulang ko...ano pa gusto n'yo?
"Pati kay [Gerald] (Anderson) humingi ako ng apology...ano pa?”
He added, "Nung malakas pa ako kumita at maliit pa kyo...kanino ba naubos lahat? Sa inyo..kasi gusto ko maginhawa ang buhay n'yo,” Dennis said.
"14 times kami lumipat ng bahay...tama Julia. Sino ba nagbabayad ng paglipat...ako yun!!!!”
Julia has not yet given a comment regarding the issue.
Julia made her first GMA appearance recently when she appeared on the September 10 episode of Eat Bulaga. She participated in the "Bawal Judgmental" segment as a celebrity guest.
