Mark Anthony Fernandez says 'Rhodora X' is his first time to play a hopeless romantic. And for this role, he is digging really deep.

Huli nating napanood ang Kapuso actor na si Mark Anthony Fernandez sa Afternoon Prime series na Bukod Kang Pinagpala. Bago nito ay ginampanan niya ang role na Louie Valencia sa primetime drama na Makapiling Kang Muli.

Now, the former Gwapings member will once again grace television screens as he returns to GMA Telebabad via the upcoming teleserye Rhodora X.

GMANetwork.com sat down with Mark Anthony during the show's pictorial, where he shared his thoughts on working with Jennylyn Mercado, Yasmien Kurdi, and Mark Herras, and what viewers should look forward to in the Kapuso network's newest offering.

"I like this character of mine kasi he's the hopeless romantic kind. It's the first time I'll be playing this type of character so I'm very excited," says Mark about his character Nico Ledesma.

Since it is his first time to play this type of role, what preparations did he have to go through?

"I guess this is a good time na pumapasok 'yung sinasabi nila that pain is helping sa acting. I remember back when I was a teenager, and those heartaches. I think those heartaches can help me today and in our future tapings," he explains.

First time rin ni Mark na makatrabaho sina Mark Herras at Yasmien Kurdi, and he admits to being a fan of both Starstruck 1 alumni. "This is my second time with Jennylyn. Mark is a good acquaintance of mine, and I'm a big fan of him every time I watch him on Sundays on Sunday All Stars. With Yasmien, I feel so close to her like with Marian Rivera [in Darna]. I knew her kasi I was watching her pala every afternoon. I haven't worked with her but I watched her a lot."

He also hopes to get some pointers from his three co-stars. "I want to know some of their secrets, like how do they do the things they do, their acting style. Basically I just want to see myself with them on film. It's a big thing for me."

"I'm really excited to be back because I've been on vacation for about five months. But it was good, I've been working out, just reading. I'm excited about all these," he adds.

As for what the viewers can expect from Rhodora X, Mark has a unique way of describing it: "I hope they get a feeling that they are watching a Sharon Cuneta-Christopher de Leon type of drama. I hope we can somehow deliver that kind of mood when you watch the show."
