In Pia Arcangel's interview with Mark Bautista on the Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel podcast on February 9, the singer shares his preparations before doing a show.
Mark relates, "When I have performances, I never drink cold drinks... It will also help if your stomach is full, but don't be so full that you will have trouble breathing."
According to Mark, he also puts a coin in his socks because believes it will bring him good luck whenever he is on stage. His mother is said to have taught him this which he said has helped him every time he performs.
"I realized, ahh, it seems to be just psychological. But actually, it helped me for some reason. Because you can feel the coldness of the coins on your feet, so it's like your brain gets distracted...
Pia asks Mark, what is the reaction of Sarah and her other colleagues in the competition every time they see him putting a coin in his socks. Mark and Popstar Royalty Sarah Geromimo are batchmates in the 2002 singing contest Star For A Night.
Mark answered, "When I was changing shoes in the finals, my friends were surprised because of the noise of my socks because I put so many on them."
