Singer Mark Bautista shares how his life changed after revealing he is bisexual in his autobiography, Beyond the Mark which he released in February 2018.

During the press conference for Eto na! Musikal nAPO! where he is part of the theater cast, Mark shared, “So far okay naman ‘yung pagtanggap ng mga tao. Siyempre hindi ko naman ma-please lahat, maraming iba’t ibang reaksyon, but now nalagpasan ko na siya.”

Mark revealed that he has received mostly positive feedback after releasing his book. “Wala na nagsasabi ng negative sa akin, ‘yung first lang na lumabas [yung book] but after ‘nun, baka nabasa na nila na malinis naman ‘yung intensyon ko for the book.”

He added, “Now, as in marami akong natatanggap [na messages] na na-inspire [daw] sila sa book. One way or the other natulungan sila nung libro.”

He also revealed that he’s single right now. “Wala ‘eh. Parang after ‘nun, inisang tabi ko muna ‘yan. Kung may papasok, kung may darating sa buhay ko na ganun, at least kilala na nila ako wala na akong dapat i-explain sa buhay ko.”

Mark also thanks everyone who supported his coming-out journey. “I want to thank everyone na sumuporta, especially sa book at sa akin na after all these years, 15 years in the industry.”

“I just feel na parang bagong milestone talaga siya for me, accepting who I am.”
