Nagbabalik si Mark sa dance scene with a new dance album. Ano nga ba ang kakaiba dito at bakit napili ang "Culos" as the carrier single?
Following his two Double Platinum albums that spawned the mega dance hits "Average Joe" and "Crazy Pipe (Pump It, Rock It)", nagbabalik na si Mark Herras sa dance scene with a new dance album. Text and Photos by Jason John S. Lim with additional text from Universal Records.
Mark Herras recently launched his new album,
The Greatest Moves, with a surefire dance hit entitled "Culos" (as performed by H.O.M.).
What made Mark release a third dance album after two years?

Mark reveals to iGMA.tv that at first ay nailang pa siyang tanggapin ang offer to make another dance album. "Medyo pinag-isipan ko kasi nga, parang, bagay pa ba sa akin?" Pero agad naman daw siyang ni-reassure ng music label niya na mas mature na rin ang magiging third release niya, and "The Greatest Moves" was born.
"So sabi ko, 'Sige. Why not try it?’"
Kuwento ni Mark, "'Yung songs, pinakinggan namin during our meetings."
Pero picking the song that would carry the album was another thing all together. Tatlong songs raw ang kanilang pinagpilian, and they ended up picking "Culos." Mark explains, "parang mas masarap sayawin 'yung Culos, kasi upbeat."
His moves
Mark admits na medyo nag-adjust siya sa choreography ng sayaw which was first seen on
SOP Fully Charged, and then again, on the music video, but this adjustment had nothing to do with the difficulty of the song.
"Normally kasi, 'yung chorus 'yung tumatatak [sa tao], 'di ba?" Mark cites his previous dance hits as examples kung saan naalala talaga ng mga tao ang steps to the chorus. "Pero feeling ko, this time, ang tatak sa kanila 'yung second stanza e." With a more mature feel, iba nga ang dating ng kembot sa second part nung stanza, he notes.
"Kasi 'yung chorus, more of hampas sa butt. Parang hindi nila ma-appreciate masyado 'yung ganoon. Pero once na sinayaw namin 'yung second part nung stanza, doon sila medyo naghihiyawan. Mas maraming nakakapansin."
With the album now out on record bars, Mark assures us and his fans that a mall tour would not be far behind.
For sure daw, early next year, magkakaroon sila ng mall tours. "Plano namin this coming January. Abangan nila," he says.
