In a recent opening of a spa in Ortigas, two race car drivers Marlon Stockinger and Fabio Ide had a sit down with GMANetwork.com to share their love for all things fast and furious.

Model and actor Fabio Ide shared that he recently got into racing thanks to a sponsored event for a Japanese car brand.

“I've been racing for the Vios cup for the past few years so it's always a lot of fun to drive competitively. I got to compete with a lot of celebrities like Troy [Montero], Gretchen [Ho], and Klea [Pineda].

“And since I won overall last year, they leveled me up so I'm very excited to represent the class for a new race this coming year.”

So what tips could the model slash car enthusiast suggest?

“First, you need to buy a car.

“But for those who still cannot afford a car, they can go to TRS (Tuazon Racing School) which offers really good lessons and they can teach you how to race. You can still do the activities and practice in the cars that they have there.

“So when the time comes and you have a car, you're more than ready more or less.”

It's quite the contrary for formula racer Marlon Stockinger who suggests that one can always start small - by playing videogames.

“I mean you gotta start somewhere.

"If you're a kid and you're playing racing games at home, with E-sports coming in as well, there's a lot of new avenues to get into motorsport.

“And I think that a lot of people, especially in this country, they're really worried about the fact that there's this stereotype that it does cost a lot financially to get into the sport.

“But I think, through gaming, you can actually turn that virtual dream into reality and you just gotta go for it. Because there's a steering wheel and there's a pedal, so you're actually using a lot of your talent in the video game.”
