Internationally acclaimed director Maryo J. delos Reyes is set to make afternoons more captivating as he returns to the afternoon block this February with Sine Novela presents Gumapang Ka sa Lusak. Gumapang Ka sa Lusak is the fourth Sine Novela that Direk Maryo will handle in GMA-7's Dramarama sa Hapon. It can be recalled that the award-winning director was in charge of the top-rating Sine Novela offerings: Magdusa Ka, Saan Darating Ang Umaga? and Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?. starsDirek Maryo's first Sine Novela was the top-rating Magdusa Ka starring Dennis Trillo, Iwa Moto and Katrina Halili. The said afternoon series gained international recognition when it was nominated in last year's International Emmy Awards. After Magdusa Ka, Direk Maryo agreed to remake his own blockbuster movie Saan Darating ang Umaga?, which garnered high ratings during its 16-week run. Sine Novela presents Saan Darating ang Umaga? featured Lani Mercado, Joel Torre, Yasmien Kurdi and Dion Ignacio. This was immediately followed by Sine Novela presents Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin? which toppled the ratings record set by the previous Sine Novela--the only afternoon program that garnered a record-breaking overnight rating of 32.4%.
