Max Ayeza has shared the story behind their latest release, "Sayo Ba o Sa Kanya," during their live performance on GMA Playlist on Friday, August 7.
Max Ayeza is a Filipino alternative pop-rock band composed of Marian Aiyezza Plata (lead vocals), Aaron Plata (Keyboard), Fletcher Hernandez (drums), and Elias Saludsong (bass).
According to the band, "Sayo Ba o Sa Kanya" is about confusion in love.
"It's also a love song. Nako-confuse siya sa dalawang tao, that's basically the story of the song. Alam mo 'yung mahal mo, pero dahil may kulang, nagkakagusto ka sa iba na hindi mo sinasadya," Max said.
The band also expressed their excitement about collaborating with another artist for the first time, referring to Jerick Malbueso, who joined them on "Sayo Ba o Sa Kanya."
During their guesting, Max also shared their music influences, citing Hungry Young Poets as one of the bands they listen to and Barbie Almalbis as the reason she writes songs.
"I personally like that song, 'yung Shiny Red Balloon, kasi may interpretation is we look at love differently. So sometimes, iba 'yung love na nakikita natin sa TV or sa paligid natin doon sa love na na-experience na natin."
Max also revealed that they are fans of Filipino rock band IV of Spades and often listen to their song "Kabisado."
