Mean Girls star Jonathan Bennett is engaged!
The actor, who famously played Aaron Samuels in the popular rom-com movie, said “yes” to his boyfriend Jaymes Vaughan, got down on one knee and wrote a song as his proposal.
On Instagram, Jonathan wrote, “I said yes! And ugly cried like a crazy person.
“So excited to share this moment, from the custom rings he had made for us to the song he wrote and sang for me. I can't wait to show you the video this week. But for right now, just this moment of joy. #engaged.”
The great news was covered by People.com, with Jonathan Bennett crying after seeing his fiancé making the sweetest gesture.
In the article, Jonathan said his fiancé duped him by saying they would be taking Christmas-card photos with his family but instead popped the question while their song played in the background.
“My sister shouted for me to come outside 'real quick' and my F.O.M.O. kicked in, so I ran outside,” the actor told People.
“Then I looked over and saw Jaymes holding a sign that said 'We never did find our song, so I wrote it for you.
“That's when I knew I was getting proposed to because it was the same type of sign he made when he told me he loved me for the first time. And then I began to ugly cry, the ugliest cry anyone has ever cried.”
