“Ever since nung bata pa kami, ganun na talaga siya -- she's been very opinionated.”
This was how Kapuso actress Megan Young describes her younger sister, Lauren Young, who's been the talk of the town lately for being outspoken towards her bashers online.
The 30-year-old beauty queen mentioned that while she plays a role in guiding Lauren, at the end of the day “she is her own person.”
“Of course, she will talk to me about certain things but I trust na Lauren think about the things she does before she does them.
“So for me, I don't really think I have the place to tell her na gawin mo 'to or 'wag mong gawin 'yan kasi alam niya kung ano 'yung mas nakakabuti para sa kanya,” she told reporters during a virtual press conference.
Megan reiterated that the same goes for people having a way of supporting different causes
“Sabi ko nga dati, everybody has a way of showing support on different things. If she feels na voicing out her opinion would be able to help other people then so be it.
“Of course, as an Ate, I will tell her that there are different ways she could approach things but si Lauren na ang bahala roon. She has her own discretion kung papaano niya ita-tackle 'yun.”
The same can be said for Lauren's brother-in-law, Mikael Daez, who said he's willing to lend a helping hand and some piece of brotherly advice if she asks for it.
The actor mentioned, “ I agree with Megan kasi pinag-uusapan namin yan. And, if Lauren would ask me, I would gladly give her my opinion but she is her own individual.
“Hindi niya kailangan magpaalam sa amin para mag-voice out ng opinion niya and she knows my stand there. If she needs help, I will be there for her.
“But, she also knows that anything she does has consequences -- sometimes they're good, sometimes they're bad. All you have to do is be accountable for your actions.
“If you need help, you can always give us a call.”
