Buong pagmamalaking sinabi ng dalawang bida na napaka-memorable ng naging experience nila sa paggawa ng movie, especially when they went to Palawan.
Itong darating na araw ng mga puso, a lot of fans are in for a romantic treat, as the most anticipated movie "When I Met You" is set to hit the box office. For its stars, Richard Gutierrez and KC Concepcion, they can only be proud of the efforts everyone has achieved in this production. Text by Erick Mataverde. Photos by Connie M. Tungul. With little sleep, and fresh from wrapping up their shoot in Subic, Richard Gutierrez and KC Concepcion still looked beaming as ever when they arrived during the recent press conference of their latest film When I Met You last January 26. iGMA.tv was on hand to learn more about these stars' experiences shooting this special Valentine's movie. "Last night po was our 16th shooting day, natapos po namin 'yung pelikula namin [in] 16 days na maayos po talaga 'yung ginawa ni Direk Joel (Lamangan). Sa Subic po 'yung last day, dalawang gabi po 'yun," banggit ni KC. Dagdag pa niya: "First Valentine movie ko po 'to and siyempre special sa akin nang sobra-sobra ng mga projects, kasi ito, second movie ko pa lang po. Si Chard, marami na pong nagagawa. We dedicate this, of course, to our fans 'yung pelikula namin, sa lahat ng supporters namin. So we're gonna share that moment with them, it's about them, it's all about them—the fans." Tinanong sila kung kamusta naman ang mga moments ng love team nila sa Coron, Palawan, at si Richard ay tuwang-tuwang nag-reveal ng kanilang bonding adventures. Kuwento niya: "'Yun pong trip namin sa Coron, from the moment na sumakay kami sa eroplano, tapos nag-bangka kami, mga alon na sobrang lalaki, ang dami namin moments together hanggang sa pagdating namin sa island. At nilublob kami ni Direk Joel sa putik. "Sa Palawan kasi buhay na buhay 'yung marine life doon. Especially in Coron, maraming mga pawikan, maraming mga [iba't-ibang creatures]. So nung birthday ko, si KC, napaka-thoughtful and sweet, nakakita siya ng isang endangered na river turtle na binebenta. So ang ginawa niya sinave niya 'yung turtle, dinala niya sa set and we named it 'Pawiki,' and we contacted the World Wildlife Fund and Greenpeace para ma-save ito. Nag-marka sa amin ni KC in memory of Palawan and, of course, the shoot in Palawan." For the story, the couple, of course, related their kilig moments. At si Richard ang nag-relate kung ano ang mga ito: "We had a couple of kissing scenes, and as the story progresses nagiging intense at passionate 'yung mga scene. 'Yung ginawa namin recently was the one in the runway, that's the sweetest one for me." A director's job Likewise, para sa kanila, very happy sila with how the movie turned out, as well as their relationship with their director.
Sabi ni KC: "Kagabi talaga niyakap po namin [si Direk Joel] ni Chard nang mahigpit na mahigpit. First, hindi kami makapaniwala na tapos na, tapos na po. And he was really a blessing in disguise, you can say. Kasi sa first week pa lang po namin lagi na po namin sinasabi na mukha siyang sobrang inspired sa ginagawa namin, and that held through till the very end. "Kahit na alam namin na probably siya 'yung pinakapagod sa aming lahat. He was still smiling, he was still very excited about us and about the movie. He was still able to encourage us to motivate us throughout. So yes he was a big, big factor in the making of the film."
