Dubai-based Filipino designer Michael Cinco has worked with the likes of international supermodels, Tyra Banks and Naomi Campbell. His high-profile clients also include Hollywood stars like Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Paris Hilton, Sofia Vergara, Dita Von Teese, Fergie of The Black Eyed Peas, Chris Brown and Mischa Barton, among others.

He is also the first Filipino designer to be featured on America’s Next Top Model. His eco-couture collection was featured in the 16th cycle of the show. The second Filipino designer to be featured on the show is Francis Libiran, who will be creating Marian’s wedding reception gown.

In an interview with Gulf News TV, Cinco expressed his utmost enthusiasm for being given the distinct honor of designing her royal beauty’s wedding gown.

“I’m so honored because I didn’t know that she likes my designs and she was a fan of my works,” said Cinco.

He told Gulf News TV, “One of her team [members] contacted me and asked me to do her wedding dress and I think it will be a big challenge for me because everyone is waiting for her dress and she is one of the most famous actresses in the Philippines.”

It was also a breeze for Cinco to brainstorm with Marian because they shared the same ideas.

“She gave me so many interesting ideas and I gave her my inputs [on] what are the best designs that would suit her, and we agreed immediately. It was very easy,” he said.
