In his sit-down interview for Kapuso Profiles, Michael recalled his life back in Canada before he got his big break in 2022, when he was launched as a member of the Kapuso youth-oriented group Sparkada.

“I think to briefly describe my life in Canada was pretty independent, introverted, and siguro I was still very young,” Michael said.

He added, “I mean it was my high school years, my Canadian years were really fun for me, I learned many things,” the Kapuso actor recalled. “One of the most important lessons though was working at a young age. I started as an ice cream scooper, eventually as a sales associate at a shoe store. And also, I got to experience to work on Disney sets, Nickelodeon sets, Netflix films as a backup dancer. And those are some things that I cherished, because I didn't know na working within that environment, that type of work, 'yung professionalism sa Canada, is something I valued, because going here was a big experience for me.”
