Francis Magalona death

Michael V on his late friend: “I think a part of EB died nu'ng nawala s'ya."

Multi-awarded comedian and director Michael V. remembered the death anniversary of his good friend Master Rapper Francis Magalona today, March 6.

The Bubble Gang star started his Instagram post by saying, “It was 12 years ago that Kiko passed away at 12pm.”

Direk Bitoy went on to say that he feels that a part of Eat Bulaga, of which the Pinoy rapper was part, died with the passing of his good friend Kiko.

“This photo was taken on October 25, 2008 during his last performance sa Eat Bulaga. Lahat kami expected na babalik na s'ya sa regular hosting after that set. Lahat kami umasa. At lahat kami nabigo.

“I think a part of EB died nu'ng nawala s'ya. Pero a big part of him stayed with all of us.”

He added, “Still missing you, my brother even after all these years.”

Several dabarkads reacted to Michael's touching tribute to Francis M including Ryan Agoncillo and Pia Guanio.

One of Francis M's children, Maxene Maglona also honored her late father by sharing a throwback photo of him.

She also shared some of the best attributes of the OPM icon, a person who always strived to do better.

“Today and everyday, I honor this man. Not only for his limitless talent as an artist but more importantly, for his incredibly kind heart as a human being.

“He was far from perfect and made a lot of mistakes in his life but I saw with my own eyes how he strived to always do and be better.

"No matter how many times he tripped and fell, he would always dust himself off and get back up again.

"He had a lot of flaws and negative traits but was never afraid to show his true self. He was a famous artist but never forgot that he was just human and treated others with respect and equanimity.

“It was through him that I saw how even though there are so many faces and so many races, everyone is equal in this kaleidoscope world.

"Everyone is equal in God's eyes.”

Maxene ended her post by saying, “Hope you're having a blast in heaven, Pop! 12 years later, I can still feel your spirit guiding me.”
