Maraming-maraming salamat, Kapuso Bert de Leon!

A picture paints a thousand words, they say, and Michael V.'s post paying tribute to the beloved late director Bert de Leon shows how the death profoundly affected him.

GMA Network and many celebrities who had the privilege to work with Direk Bert were extremely saddened with the news of his death, which was announced by his family last November 21.

Direk Bitoy, who is the creative director of Bubble Gang and Pepito Manaloto--two shows handled by the late Kapuso director--took to Instagram to share a throwback photo with him.

One could see the award-winning comedian hugging Direk Bert and captioned the post saying, “Cut! Good take! Moving on…”

Since the news of his death was confirmed, several celebrities paid tribute to Bert de Leon, one of them is Archie Alemania.

He posted on Instagram, “Direk ma mi-miss kita, kita kits na lang ulit. Palo ulit tayo. Rest in peace Direk Bert De Leon.”

Comedienne and social media star Ashely Rivera was visibly emotional after learning of the death of Direk Bert.

She posted on Instagram Story, “Grabe iyak ko nang malaman ko 'to. RIP Direk, isa ka pa naman na nagtitiwala sa akin. No more pain. We love you.”

Eat Bulaga also remembered Bert de Leon, who also once directed the longest-running noontime variety show in the Philippines.

The passing of Direk Bert comes as the flagship gag show of GMA-7 marks its 25th anniversary this coming Friday night, November 26.
