Multi-awarded comedian Michael V. took a trip down memory lane as he remembered the 15th death anniversary of his good friend, Francis Magalona.
The Master Rapper was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia in August 2008 and a few months later he passed away at the age of 44 on March 6, 2009.
On Instagram, Michael V. shared an old poster of the 1993 movie “Mama's Boy," where he worked with Francis, former Bubble Gang star Ogie Alcasid, and fellow comedian Anjo Yllana.
He captioned his post saying, “People never die as long as somebody remembers them.”
Pia Magalona, the wife of Francis, reacted to Bitoy's post by leaving three heart emojis in the comment section.
Actor-director Michael V. also wanted to keep the memory of his best friend alive. In an Instagram post eight years ago, he talked about the reason he had Francis's popular three stars and a sun logo tattooed on his back.
He explained, “I went to Kiko's wake that night sa Christ The King and was approached by a guy. He shook my hand and said, 'Ser magandang gabi po! Ako po si Pido Respicio. Ako po 'yung nag-tattoo kay Francis.' Curious, I asked him, 'Anong t-in-attoo mo?' to which he replied 'Yun pong 3 stars & a sun!'
“The following day, sa recording studio ng Eat Bulaga, t-in-attoo-an ako ni Pido. The tattoo somehow helped transfer some of the pain inside out.”
