Miss Universe Philippines Tourism Michelle Dee is doing her part as an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community by raising money for LGBTQIA+ organizations.
In the latest post on her Instagram account, Michelle posted a couple of sexy pictures of her wearing a special edition T-shirt by the brand COS, which will be donating 100 percent of the profits to specific LGBTQIA+ organizations. In the caption to the post, Michelle asked her followers to check out the shirts that are “in support of the community we all should love.”
Michelle is just the latest Miss Universe Philippines queen to publicly show their support for the LGBTQIA+ community this Pride Month.
Just a couple of days ago, the Miss Universe Organization recognized Catriona Gray as “part of its LGBTQIA+ history,” posting a photo of Catriona with Pride flags in the background on its Instagram account. In the caption, the organization quotes Catriona as saying that Miss Universe helped her “become even more steadfast” in her allyship by enabling her to meet “LGBTQIA+ communities from multiple countries and cultures and hearing their stories.”
Catriona has not been afraid to publicly call out the 2020 arrest of LGBTQIA+ activists who held a protest at Mendiola.
Aside from Michelle and Catriona, Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez is not just an advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community but is a member of it herself. At the start of Pride Month, the openly bisexual queen posted a photo of her wearing a rainbow gown along with the words “Walk Proud” superimposed over the image on her Instagram account. In the caption to the post, Beatrice simply wrote “Happy PRIDE unicorns,” in reference to Pride Month, which began this June 1.
Even before the start of Pride month, Beatrice took part in a life insurance company's event for the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia, or IDAHOBIT 2022
