Michelle Dee affirms that Rhian Ramos and Max Collins were there for her every step of the way.
Michelle Dee is making sure that her friends are getting the credit they deserve after her win at the recently concluded Miss Universe Philippines pageant.
On the podcast Updated with Nelson Canlas, Michelle recalled how her two best friends, Kapuso stars Rhian Ramos and Max Collins, were actually there at the venue to cheer them on and did not mind looking like a fool to cheer her on.
“That night of course nandoon si Max and of course nandoon si Rhian na nakita pa gave an ugly cry. Talagang wala siyang pakialam kahit anong maging itsura niya. Halos lumuhod na siya talaga siya sa tuwa,” she shared.
It's no surprise that Rhian and Max were just as emotional about Michelle's win, as Michelle says the two were aware of the “blood, sweat, and tears” that she had put into winning the crown,
“You know, they saw how much it broke my heart not to win last year. And this year they witnessed how hard I worked to get the crown. As in I lived with Rhian but she never saw me, what she would see is me awake when she gets up and already doing my make up or just getting home from taping and then saying 'Oh what are you doing today?' 'Oh I only have an hour and then I'm leaving.' So they really saw the blood, sweat and tears and the dedication that I put, just to win this crown,” Michelle shared.
Rhian already shared her side of the story just three days after Michelle won the crown, posting a lengthy caption on her Instagram account congratulating Michelle.
Rhian wrote that she “couldn't be happier” now that Michelle's “destiny” has come for her this year, and also shared that their friend group saw the “countless hours of hard work and self-improvement” that Michelle had to undergo to win the Miss Universe Philippines crown.
Michelle herself has talked about the “difficult” year she had on the way to win the crown. According to the beauty queen, she had to take responsibility for two households due to her parents' accidents, as well as becoming the primary caregiver to her two autistic siblings.
