Michelle Dee just gave her mom, Melanie Marquez, the best gift ever!
The Sparkle artist shared a heartfelt video on Instagram, where she surprised her beauty queen mother with a replica of her long-lost Miss International 1979 crown.
In the video, as her mother entered the car, Michelle handed her a red box containing a replica of the crown.
Melanie was visibly shocked and said, "Korona?! Korona ko? Paano niyo nakuha? Ang ganda naman nito."
The 1979 beauty queen then hugged her daughter and said, "Thank you, I love you."
After the warm moment, Michelle lovingly placed the crown on her mom's head, and the two posed for a sweet selfie.
"Every day is Mother's Day and every day is your birthday! But years ago, my mom's original Miss International 1979 crown was stolen. She never got it back," Michelle shared in the caption.
She also revealed that Miss Universe Philippines Executive Vice-President Voltaire Tayag helped her bring the crown replica to life.
"To my REYNA! I love you," she wrote.
She added, "P.S.: I miss my mom's melanisms!!! Pps: just realized I was wearing my dad's trench too!"
Melanie earned the Miss International crown in 1979, becoming the third Filipina to win the prestigious title.
Following in her footsteps, Michelle was named Miss Universe Philippines 2023. She proudly represented her country at Miss Universe 2023, where she placed in the Top 10 and won multiple special awards.
