Hindi maitatanggi ni Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee na nagging mahirap ang naging journey niya sa pageantry. Sa katunayan, sa tatlong beses pagsali sa dalawang national pageants ay dalawang beses niyang hindi nakuha ang korona.

Sa pagbisita niya sa Fast Talk with Boy Abunda nitong Lunes, May 5, tinanong ni King of Talk Boy Abunda kung papaano nananatiling focused at undistracted si Michelle mula sa mga negatibong komento.

Pag-amin ng dating beauty queen, “It's very difficult.”

“I had two national pageants of me trying to conform with what people are expecting me, from my mom, from my cousins, and then it was that third year that I said, 'You know what, I'm going to be myself, papakita ko na lang kung ano ako, let's see what happens,'” sabi ni Michelle.

Dagdag pa ng Sparkle star, ang pagtanggap niya sa sarili ang nagdulot sa kaniya ng tagumpay at kinoronahan siya bilang Miss Universe Philippines 2023. Aniya, ito sana ang mensaheng gustong iparating din ng kaniyang first single na "Reyna".

“That's what brought me success, really embracing who I am, and that's what I hope this song reflects onto other people: be who you are and be celebrated for who you are, because there will always be someone who will celebrate right beside you,” sabi ng Kapuso actress.

Naging malaking tulong din umano ang kaniyang experience na matagal na siyang nasa harap ng camera, at ang pagiging parte ng entertainment industry simula pagkabata.

“But a big part is really how my parents raised me, how my grandmother raised me, the example that she's set, because I've seen them go through so much hardships in life and they always chose to do the right thing after,” sabi ni Michelle.

Nang tanungin naman siya ng batikang host kung saan siya humuhugot ng lakas tuwing pinanghihinaan siya ng loob, sinabi ni Michelle, “Sometimes kasi, Tito Boy, you have to find strength in your 'why'.”

“If you have a bigger reason on why you're doing it, like when I joined Miss Universe. I know I had a bigger mission, but there was so much hardships to get there, just to get to this point of my career after the song, after everything that I've done, there's so many things that happened,” sabi ng beauty queen.

Sabi ni Michelle, ang nagtulak sa kaniya para ipagpatuloy ang laban sa naturang pageant ay dahil gusto niyang maka-inspire.

“My 'why' is to use this platform and you have to be willing to go through bad to get to the good. And if it was easy, then are you actually working? And if it was easy, would it be worth it?” sabi ni Michelle.
