The COVID-19 pandemic has rendered millions of people jobless worldwide, and software giant Microsoft, together with professional networking site LinkedIn and hosting service company GitHub are joining forces to fight unemployment by launching free online job training courses called learning paths.
Job-hunting during the pandemic can be difficult as many companies have temporarily closed or have suffered great losses and won't be hiring anytime soon.
However, LinkedIn data revealed that there are 10 jobs that have been in-demand for four years and have the greatest number of current openings.
LinkedIn's top 10 in-demand jobs:
1. Software developer
2. Sales representative
3. Project manager
4. IT Administrator
5. Customer service specialist
6. Digital marketer
7. IT support/help desk
8. Data analyst
9. Financial analyst
10. Graphic designer
Moreover, LinkedIn CEO Ryan Roslansky said in a blog, that these jobs pay a livable wage, and require skills that can be conveniently learned online.
Hence, they've decided to come up with 10 role-based learning paths, to equip job seekers with the skills and knowledge they need to get hired for these in-demand jobs.
These learning paths are free and accessible at LinkedIn's opportunity page - even for non-LinkedIn users.
With the launch of these learning paths, Microsoft, LinkedIn, and GitHub hope to help 25 million job seekers get back to work and get back on their feet amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
