Miguel Tanfelix starts his training as Steve Armstrong as he learns how to fire a gun with the Philippine Air Force's help.

Kapuso actor and Voltes V: Legacy star Miguel Tanfelix is on his way to becoming Steve Armstrong as he learns how to use a firearm earlier today, February 16.

He captioned the post with, "Eyes on the prize, baby. #training"

In a private message with GMANetwork.com, Miguel shared that he was quite nervous during his training, given that it is his first time to hold an actual gun but sees it as an enjoyable hobby in the future.

He said, "Kinabahan ako at first kasi this is my first time na makahawak at makagamit ng totoong baril.

"Pero habang tumatagal, mas lalo akong ginaganahan, and gusto ko na siya gawin regularly and possible na maging hobby ko na ang firing."

Before holding a gun, the star set to play the iconic Voltes V role said that the AirForce made sure to orient him in the dos and don'ts of using the lethal weapon.

On February 10, Miguel was announced to play Steve Armstrong in the highly-anticipated Voltes V: Legacy series. He is set to work alongside Ysabel Ortega, Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, Raphael Landicho, Martin del Rosario, and Liezel Lopez.

Prior to bagging the role, the Kapuso actor shared with the internal press his dream of landing a "superhero" role in the future.

He told Kapuso PR Girl, "Marami na akong nagampanan na roles, mapa-action, mapa-drama, mapa-horror.

"But now parang gusto ko gumawa ng something epic, something big na may fight scenes kasi nami-miss ko na mag fight scenes. So siguro isang superhero naman.”

Offered by GMA Entertainment Group, under the helm of Direk Mark A. Reyes and head writer Suzette Doctolero, Voltes V: Legacy is one of the most highly-anticipated live-action series of the 21st century to hit Philippine television.

Script, characters, and creation of the Voltes V: Legacy world undergo review and approval by Toei Company, Ltd and Telesuccess Production Inc -- two of the big names behind the successful Japanese anime.
