Kapuso couple Mikael Daez and Megan Young recently went on vacation to Boracay amid the new normal. In the latest episode of their podcast, '#BehindRelationshipGoals,' the two talked about their experience in the top island tourist destination.
In the latest episode of Mikael Daez and Megan Young's podcast, '#BehindRelationshipGoals,' the celebrity couple shared their experience during their recent trip to Boracay.
After carefully deliberating about this trip, Mikael and Megan came to a decision upon considering two main factors as to why they want to go there.
For Megan, she was definitely feeling the cabin fever after being cooped up inside their home for months on end. She wanted to bask in the famed Boracay sand, sea, and sun to recharge.
Meanwhile, Mikael wanted to check the situation of the tourism industry in Boracay and wanted to see how he could help by availing of their services.
However, getting to Boracay wasn't quite as easy as it would seem. Despite the cheap flights and accomodations, they both had to take a PCR test (which costs about PHP 6,500 each) three days before their flight which became an added expense for them. To offset this, Mikael and Megan decided to stay in the island for a whole week to maximize the amount they paid for their pricey test.
Once they got there, the couple couldn't believe their eyes upon seeing an almost deserted Boracay.
According to Megan, the atmosphere felt as if she was in Boracay back in the '90s to which Mikael agreed.
"Whenever we would go out, we went out to Long Beach most of the time and there was only one day where we saw a lot of people.
"Every other day, it was like Boneezy (Megan Young) owned the island," Mikael added.
After their week-long vacay, Mikael and Megan are definitely feeling refreshed and ready to take work even harder. They also made this podcast discussing their experience to spread information about travelling in the new normal and give advice to others who are curious about travelling locally.
