Power couple Mikee Cojuangco and Dodot Jaworski made a rare TV appearance on Tuesday's episode of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.
Aside from their unique love story, Mikee and Dodot share their roles as parents to their three boys - Robbie, Rafael, and Renzo, particularly their involvement in their personal lives.
“As parents, pakialamero ba kayo?” King of Talk Boy Abunda asked the two.
“Involved,” Mikee answered.
“I think we're supportive in a way,” Dodot answered.
Mikee then pointed out that their sons were also open to them when it comes to their friends and potential dating.
“I think the communication among us is good. Para sa'kin kasi napag-uusapan namin, naiintindihan nila, na-e-explain namin sa kanila 'yung halaga ng pagpili ng tama. 'Yung halaga ng… 'yung makakasundo ng other members of the family,” she shared.
“Every one of them reacts differently according to their personality din,” Mikee added.
Boy then asked Mikee and Dodot about Sparkle actress Caitlyn Stave who is romantically involved with their son, Rafael.
Mikee smiled and said, “We get along, we enjoy our company.”
The renowned equestrienne added that their sons understand the value of being open with them about people who are dear to them.
“Lahat ng mga kaibigan nila, barkada nila, pumupunta talaga sa bahay and I think nakita nila na maganda 'yung mga result no'n kasi we know them when they talk about them, naiintindihan namin.
“There's a closeness that also happens with our kids when we know their friends. Siyempre alam nila na kapag importante 'yung tao sa kanila they will introduce them to us,” Mikee continued.
Dodot then pointed out how good communication works for their family. He said, “Our kids, we brought them up in such a way that when they do introduce these potential friends, girlfriends, to us, we also observe the interaction and they pick up from here and so far I think we are both that happy that our kids are seeing these nice girls.”
He added, “Basta ang bilin ko lang sa kanila, 'While you're young, you have to remember that you are in a relationship because you want to be happy. For as long as you grow together and support each other and not hold each other down.'”
