Actress and former beauty queen Miriam Quiambao revealed that she still breastfeeds her 16-month-old son Elijah.
Elijah is her first son with her husband Ardy Roberto.
“What breastfeeding looks like nowadays. Elijah at 16 months still breastfeeds but mostly on demand.
“No more schedule…not even a decent position. Oftentimes we're on the floor, sometimes I get to sit or I'm bent over and he's nursing while standing. Parang cow nursing a calf lang. Gano'n. Those times I really feel like I'm Mrs. Moo,” she quipped.
Adding, “My favorite position though is when I breastfeed him while we are both lying in bed -- hanggang sa makatulog na kaming dalawa. Buong magdamag na ito. Sarap. At least we are both well rested.
"But no matter the position, I still feel it's a privilege to be nursing my son at this point,” she said.
But then, Miriam admitted that she has also thought of quitting breastfeeding.
“There have been times when I almost wanted to wean him early but I just convinced myself na sandali na lang ito. Baka next year, ayaw na niya ako.
"So I still do it. Whether he really wants cuddling with Mama or all he wants is 'dede.' Hangga't gusto pa niya, nandito lang ako,” she added.
The Miss Universe 1999 first runner-up got pregnant with Elijah at the age of 43.
While this is her first pregnancy, Miriam has become a mother to Ardy's son Joshua, his child with his deceased wife.
