Reigning Miss Charm Philippines title-holder Cyrille Payumo didn't hold back against her detractors who continuously comment about her body.
The Pampanga-based beauty queen took to Facebook to stand against those body shaming her online and revealed that her weight struggle is due to her PCOS or polycystic ovary syndrome.
According to Mayoclinic.org, PCOS is a problem with hormones that happens during the reproductive years. If you have PCOS, you may not have periods very often, or you may have periods that last many days. You may also have too much of a hormone called androgen in your body.
It also added that obesity can commonly occur with women diagnosed with PCOS.
In her Facebook page, Cyrille stated, “For the past five months, I've been navigating the challenges of PCOS -- and I want you to know, it hasn't been an easy journey. As a woman going through this firsthand, my heart truly goes out to anyone facing the same silent battles. what we truly need is not judgement but understanding, empathy, and support.”
She added, “I've seen the changes in my body, especially the weight gain brought on by the medication I take every day. But you know what? That's okay. I've made the conscious choice to prioritize my health, because healing -- not perfection -- is what truly matters. This experience has taught me that real confidence begins within.”
Cyrille stressed that she will not tolerate any hurtful remarks about her body and encouraged everyone to stand against those who body shame individuals.
“BODY SHAMING has no place in our community, and I will not tolerate it and neither should anyone else. It's time for us all to stand together against it.
“Let's create a space where we uplift one another, share our experiences with kindness, and ALWAYS CHOOSE COMPASSION OVER CRITICISM.”
