It's a little over a week until the Miss Cosmo pageant crowns its next queen, and it looks like Philippine representative Chelsea Fernandez is making sure that she is in contention for the crown.
In one of the more recent on its official Instagram account, the Miss Cosmo pageant named the top five queens for Best in Ao Dai. The top five queens are Chelsea, Miss Cosmo Peru Kelín Rivera Kroll, Miss Cosmo Bahamas Beyonce Forbes, Miss Cosmo Ecuador Alexandra Mina, and Miss Cosmo Vietnam Nguyen Hoang Phuong Linh.
The Miss Cosmo pageant coronation night is set to happen on December 20, 2025, at the Creative Park in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Chelsea's top five placement follows her securing a spot in the top 17 of the Miss Cosmo National Costume Competition. In the caption to the post, The Miss Philippines organization said that Chelsea “delivered a remarkable performance in the Sarimanok-inspired creation by ER Stephen Alvarado, showcasing its cultural beauty with grace and impact.”
Chelsea also lit up the runway during the Miss Cosmo swimsuit competition, wearing a red swimsuit and a performance that The Miss Philippines organization described as a “flawless walk, striking figure, and full confidence that had the entire room locked in”. The organization then added a reminder to vote for Chelsea on the Miss Cosmo website to help her secure a spot in the pageant's Top 10.
Chelsea was the first candidate among the Miss Cosmo delegates to reach a million votes for the Miss Cosmo People's Choice competition. As of this writing, Chelsea is in the lead of the People's Choice voting, with delegates from Vietnam, Nigeria, El Salvador, and Myanmar making up the rest of the top five.
Chelsea isn't the only Filipina beauty queen to make waves in the international pageant scene. Reigning Miss Universe Philippines Ahtisa Manalo clinched the third runner-up position in the Miss Universe pageant. Ahtisa also recently had two homecoming parades held in her honor.
Binibining Pilipinas International Myrna Esguerra also caught attention with her white national costume, which was a tribute to both the pearl and the country's national flower, the sampaguita.
Myrna would eventually clinch the fourth runner-up position in the pageant.
