Netizens rave about Ericka Camata a.k.a Miss Everything's version of Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo's national costume.

Internet sensation Ericka Camata a.k.a Miss Everything has once again caught netizens' attention as she unveiled her version of Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo's national costume.

The 24-year-old beauty queen's red and blue wings costume with three stars was inspired by the Philippine flag with the blue color representing royalty, red stands for the courage and strength of an independent woman, and yellow, for the color of the sun and stars, which also symbolizes hope and freedom to choose whoever you want to be.

On Friday, May 14, Miss Everything posted her very own version of it on social media.

Her caption reads: “You are not a feel how harderist to carry the 21 1/4 sheet of paper kilograms of this back pack walking in the street and the functional feeling is to smile or face the fears in the teddy bear feathers with red and blue wine colors. So don't hate. Just love and support our queen to her journylism. Laban Philippines.”

Rabiya's national costume received criticisms as some pageant fans expressed their dismay over her “incomplete” outfit, questioning why she did not wear the headpiece that is supposed to top off her look.

She seemed to have read some negative comments as she took to social media to apologize to those who were "disappointed" with her performance.

"I'm so sorry kung na-disappoint man kayo sa akin. But I know na I did my best. I even cut my finger earlier and 'yung stockings ko puno na rin siya ng dugo. But I kept fighting," she said on her Instagram Live.

To clarify the issue, Miss Universe Philippines National Director Shamcey Supsup explained that they decided to exclude the sun headpiece as it kept falling off of Rabiya's head.

Former Miss Universe Philippines MJ Lastimosa also defended Rabiya amid criticisms, saying that the wings already weigh at least 21 kilograms.

Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray also defended Rabiya, saying, “Rabiya Mateo does not need to apologize! She worked that stage and PER-FORMED. National costume is a segment to celebrate culture and a country's identity, but isn't a part of the scoring towards the crown. Kaya laban lang, Queen!”

The said headpiece was designed by Bulacan-based jeweler Manny Halasan.
