Miss Grand International Myanmar 2024 Thae Su Nyein

Why was Miss Grand International Myanmar Thae Su Nyein stripped off her crown by her own pageant director, Htoo Ant Lwin?

Miss Grand International 2024 Myanmar Thae Su Nyeim was awarded second runner-up, and her coronation became a hot topic among pageant fans as she was spotted crying right after being crowned.

Myanmar national director Htoo Ant Lwin was also seen removing her sash and crown from her as she was going down the stage.

Thae was in tears on stage as her team escorted her down, as shown in the video shared by global pageant platform Missosology on Facebook on Saturday, October 26.

Htoo went up to Thae, then snatched the crown from her head and took away her sash while she was being escorted by one of their team members.

Htoo then continued assisting Thae while walking, as he pointed and shouted at the person taking a video of them.

He also took to Facebook to make a cryptic post, presumably about the results of the pageant and the incident that followed.

"Bye forever," he wrote in his status.

In another post that came shortly, he clarified, "Everything is fine. I will go live shortly."

Htoo later on went live on his page and talked about the pageant results that were allegedly unfair toward Thae.

He further made several statements against the Miss Grand International organization, and mentioned that Myanmar will no longer join the said pageant.

After his livestream, he made another status update, this time saying, "I'm calm now. Will you re-sign the contract?"

Some netizens reacted by asking Htoo, "What's wrong with you?" and "Are you ok?"

Miss Grand International organization has yet to comment on the matter as of this writing.

Rachel Gupta of India was crowned as the 2024 Miss Grant International while Philippine bet CJ Opiaza was crowned as the first runner-up at the coronation night held in Thailand on Friday, October 25.
