Pageant season continues as another pageant is gearing up to crown yet another beauty queen to represent the country in international competitions.
In one of the more recent posts on its official Instagram account, the Miss Grand Philippines organization announced that the deadline for applications for the 2025 Miss Grand Philippines pageant is on Monday, May 12, 2025. In the caption, the organization also added a link to an application form as well as the requirements needed.
The Miss Grand Philippines pageant first opened its applications back in March with a post on Instagram, announcing that interested delegates can now apply for a spot in this year's Miss Grand Philippines pageant. In the caption to the post, the organization wrote that they were open to “seasoned” pageant veterans and first-time applicants as well.
Applicants who get in will compete for the chance to succeed Miss Grand International first runner-up CJ Opiaza.
CJ received a grand homecoming in December 2024 at the SM Mall of Asia. In the caption to the post, the organization called on pageant fans to give CJ “the homecoming she deserves--full of cheers, pride, and unforgettable memories.”
Here's what CJ Opiaza has been doing since Miss Grand International
After her Miss Grand International run, CJ was applauded for her performance by Miss Grand Philippines franchise holder Arnold Vegafria and makeup artist Yaj Labeo
Arnold emphasized that it was CJ's “relevant and timely message about respect” that won her the first runner-up crown, while Yaj recalled CJ's two previous attempts at a beauty pageant crown, from the 2022 Binibining Pilipinas pageant to the 2023 Miss Universe Philippines pageant. He shared that CJ gave everything that she had to the Miss Grand International pageant and that it was “a joy beyond words” to see the country support her.
CJ was crowned Miss Grand Philippines at the final show held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, Newport World Resorts, besting 19 other queens.
