The latest production of the hit Broadway musical Miss Saigon is coming to the Philippines in March 2024!

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), GMA Productions, in association with GWB Entertainment, announced on Friday, October 13 that the company is bringing the “brand new production” to the Filipino audience at the Theatre at Solaire in Parañaque City.

In a statement, theatrical producer Cameron Mackintosh expressed how thrilled he is to bring the newest production of Miss Saigon to Manila.

“Without a doubt, it is the best production of 'Saigon' I have ever produced, with one of the most brilliant casts that have ever performed the show around the world. I can't envisage another show of this scale being done in Manila for the foreseeable future,” he said in the statement.

Meanwhile, GMG Productions CEO Carlos Candal on the other hand, noted how Filipinos have a “deep connection” to the musical, citing several artists who have performed on stage before.

This is not the first musical that GMG Productions brought to the Philippines though as they recently brought beloved musicals such as Hamilton and The Sound of Music.

Fans meanwhile, expressed their excitement over the news, with some of them saying that they have been waiting for a new production of the Broadway show for a long time already.

One netizen even said that it had been decades since Miss Saigon was shown in the country.

“Finally! What took you so long??? It's been decades since this was last staged here in the Philippines!” one netizen said.

Another netizen commented, “This is the concert stage of Miss Saigon, just like what they did with Les Mis .. still worth watching. Don't forget to catch this one guys.”
