The last time R'Bonney Gabriel was in the country was during the coronation night for last year's Miss Universe Philippines pageant.
Filipino pageant fans and followers have something new to look forward to in February as the Miss Universe Philippines organization has announced that 2022 Miss Universe R'Bonney Gabriel is making a return to the country.
The Miss Universe Philippines organization made the announcement on its official Instagram account, posting a video teasing R'Bonney in a glittering outfit as well as showing footage from her coronation. In the caption to the post, the organization stressed how important the Philippines is to R'Bonney because of her Filipino-American heritage, and how the beauty queen has always been vocal about this association. The Miss Universe Philippines organization then announced that the beauty queen will be coming back to the country in February.
A cursory look at R'Bonney's Instagram account certainly shows that she has no problem referencing the Filipino half of her personality. Back in November last year, she amused netizens by posting photos of her headed to El Salvador with the distinctly Filipino balikbayan box. Filipino personalities like fellow beauty queen Katrina Dimaranan, reporter Gretchen Fullido, designer Veejay Floresca, and Miss Universe Philippines director of communication Voltaire Tayag were quick to point out the box.

The Miss Universe Philippines organization's announcement looks to be the answer to the teaser the group posted back in December, In an Instagram post, the organization teased a “return” with the image of a woman with her back turned. Text that reads “The Return” is over the image as well as the question “Are you ready?” In the comments to the post, pageant fans and followers were already guessing what exactly is making a return.
R'Bonney Gabriel was in the country in May last year as a special guest during the Miss Universe Philippines coronation night. She attended the Miss Universe Philippines Fashion & Gala Night on her first night in the country, stunning the attendees with a Mark Bumgarner Filipiniana.
