Things might be looking up for Miss Universe Jamaica 2025 Dr. Gabrielle Henry, as the Miss Universe Jamaica organization reports that she has made “encouraging strides in her recovery.”
In one of the more recent posts on its official Instagram account, the Miss Universe Jamaica organization shared the news of Gabrielle's recovery as well as her expected release from the hospital in the coming days. The statement also included a quote from Gabrielle, who said that she is “eagerly looking forward” to her return home and “seeing everyone in the near future.”
Meanwhile, a separate statement jointly released by the Miss Universe organization and the family of Gabrielle Henry detailed the injuries she suffered during her accident. The injuries include “an intracranial hemorrhage with loss of consciousness, a fracture, facial lacerations and other significant injuries.”
The statement also revealed that the Miss Universe organization “covered all hospital, medical, and rehabilitation expenses in Thailand, as well as the accommodation and living costs for Dr. Henry's mother and sister.” The organization will also pay for the “medically escorted repatriation flight” as well as future medical expenses.
The Miss Universe organization also refuted claims that Gabrielle contributed to the accident and that they blamed her for what happened. The Henry family also expressed its gratitude to the organization in the statement, as well as to the fans and the people of Jamaica.
The accident Gabrielle was involved with happened on November 19, during the Miss Universe pageant's preliminary evening gown competition. She was rushed to the Paolo Rangsit Hospital and was at one point in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The 2025 Miss Universe pageant saw the crown go to Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch, while Philippine representative Ahtisa Manalo clinched third runner-up.
Ahtisa also recently had two homecoming parades held in her honor.
