Miss Universe Malaysia has opted to skip the 70th edition of the Miss Universe pageant happening in December in Eilat, Israel.
In a statement, pageant organizers cited the worsening COVID-19 situation in their country as the reason why there will be no Miss Universe Malaysia pageant for this year.
“We have therefore declined the invitation to this year's pageant and regretfully would not be able to hold a local this year,” said the statement issued by the Miss Universe Malaysia Organization Management and Team.
“We wish all delegates the best of luck at the international competition and look forward to participating again in the near future.”
