Miss Universe Philippines Celeste Cortesi says the work she's done has changed her world view.

A few days after the Miss Universe Philippines organization shared photos of her doing advocacy work in Lanao del Norte, Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi is sharing the insights she's learned from her time with disadvantaged communities.

In one of her recent posts on Instagram, Celeste shared a short video of her in the Lanao del Norte communities she visited along with Save the Children Philippines as part of the organization's Life Changer for Children program.

In the caption to the post, Celeste shared how despite being born in the Philippines, she had spent most of her life in Italy. However, ever since she moved back here four years ago and her involvement in advocacy work as part of her duties as a beauty queen, she said that her perspective on the world has changed, helping her realize the importance of sharing her blessings with others and giving more than she is receiving. Celeste also said that her time spent with the Lanao del Norte communities reminded her of the importance of doing one's part to make a change.

Celeste visited the communities alongside Miss Universe Philippines Charity Pauline Amelinckx and Miss Universe Philippines first runner up Annabelle McDonnell, where the trio met with members of the community as well as distributed relief goods.

Celeste's time in Lanao del Norte is just part of the charitable work she has been doing for the past few months. In October, Celeste repacked relief goods to “truly kickstart the holiday season” for families affected by a fire in Sampaloc, Manila.

Celeste also commemorated World Mental Health Day on her Instagram account by calling for kindness when it comes to people experiencing mental health issues.

Celeste also worked with mental health organization MindNation last September to bring focus to Suicide Prevention Month. The collaboration involved Celeste posting a photo of herself holding a paper declaring “It's okay to not be okay” on posts on the social media accounts of MindNation.
