Miss Universe Philippines

Interested applicants will follow in the footsteps of queens like Celeste Cortesi and Beatrice Luigi Gomez.

Young women looking to chase the Miss Universe Philippines crown and follow in the steps of Beatrice Luigi Gomez and current reigning queen Celeste Cortesi now have a chance to do so as the Miss Universe Philippines organization is once again accepting applications.

In posts on their social media accounts, the Miss Universe Philippines organization posted a short clip of some of Celeste Cortesi's pageant highlights before calling on interested people to send in their applications. In the caption to the post, the organization posted a link to an online form and sated that the deadline is on January 29, 2023.

Current reigning Miss Universe Philippines Celeste Cortesi will be competing for the 2022 Miss Universe crown on January 14, 2023 in New Orleans, Louisiana. While she prepares for the pageant, Celeste has been involved in a number of advocacy work and charitable efforts around the country.

Just recently, Celeste and two other Miss Universe Philippines winners were working with Save the Children Philippines to visit communities in Lanao del Norte as part of the group's Life Changer for Children program.

In October, Celeste repacked relief goods for victims of a fire in Sampaloc, Manila. In the post, she said it was her way to “truly kickstart the holiday season.”

Celeste has also been advocating for mental health, posting last month about World Mental Health Day by calling for kindness when it comes to mental health.

In September, Celeste worked together with MindNation, a “global mental health and well-being organization with a goal of happier, healthier communities,” to bring awareness to Suicide Prevention Month

by appearing on the organization's social media accounts holding a paper declaring “It's okay not to be okay.” According to MindNation, the post is meant to “create hope through words when someone is struggling” and encourages people to talk to mental health professionals when needed.

Aside from Celeste, interested applicants will also have to take the place of the rest of Celeste's Miss Universe court.
