With each new announcement, the frontrunners for this year's Miss Universe Philippines pageant become clearer.
There is only a week left until the Miss Universe Philippines organization crowns a new titleholder. But before the May 13 coronation night, the pageant's delegates are collecting titles on their way to the crown.
In a post on the Miss Universe Philippines Instagram account, the organization named the top five finalists of its Runway Challenge. The top performing queens are Miss Agusan del Norte Jannarie Zarzoso, Miss Bohol Pauline Amelinckx, Miss Bulacan Princess Anne Ramos, Miss Makati Michelle Dee, and Miss Pampanga Angelique Manto.
Over the past few weeks, clear frontrunners have begun to emerge among the delegates, thanks to the multiple challenges they have gone through.
Aside from being in the top five of the Runway Challenge, Miss Agusan del Norte Jannarie Zarzoso, Miss Bulacan Princess Anne Marcos, and Miss Pampanga Angelique Manto were also part of the top five of the Photoshoot Challenge. Rounding out that top five were Miss Eastern Samar Airrish Ramos and Miss Quezon Province Lesly Sim.
Meanwhile, this is Miss Bohol Pauline Amelinckx's second time to be named as one of the top performers in the pageant's challenges, having been part of the top five of the Swimsuit Challenge alongside Miss Agusan del Norte Jannarie Zarzoso, Miss Bulacan Princess Anne Marcos, Miss Pampanga Angelique Manto and Miss Capiz Shayne Glenmae Maquiran.
Meanwhile, the recently held National Costume competition ended with Eastern Samar's Airissh Ramos, Benguet's Joemay Leo, and Southern Leyte's Kimberly Escartin in first, second, and third place respectively.
At Cove Manila tonight, 7 p.m., the candidates will have the talent presentation with the Mister Pilipinas Worldwide grand finals held alongside it.
Three days before the coronation night, the queens will also participate in the Miss Universe 2023 Fashion and Charity Gala at the Okada Manila Grand Ballroom. The gala, which is being held for the benefit of Save the Children and Hope 4 Change, will have Miss Universe 2022 R'Bonney Gabriel as a special guest.
