Gwendolyne Fourniol says the LGBTQIA+ community have been an inspiration for her.

Yet another beauty queen is raising their voice in support of the LGBTQIA+ community. This time around, it is Miss World Philippines 2022 Gwendolyne Fourniol, who recently greeted everyone a happy Pride Month.

In one of the recent posts on her Instagram account, Gwendolyne greeted everyone a happy Pride Month and then affirmed that love “should serve as a catalyst for change and should not create division between us human beings.” She also wrote that no one should be oppressed for their sexuality, and then expressed her gratitude at being able to work with “diverse individuals from the LGBTQIA+ community” as their “tenacity, warmth and persistence” have inspired her.

Gwendolyne's declaration of support follows that of Miss Universe Philippines Tourism Michelle Dee, who just a few days ago began raising money for LGBTQIA+ organizations through a special edition T-shirt by the brand COS, who will be donating 100 percent of the profits to specific LGBTQIA+ organizations.

Earlier, the Miss Universe Organization recognized Catriona Gray as “part of its LGBTQIA+ history,” posting a photo of Catriona with Pride flags in the background on its Instagram account. In the caption, Catriona said that Miss Universe helped her “become even more steadfast” in her allyship by enabling her to meet “LGBTQIA+ communities from multiple countries and cultures and hearing their stories.”
