Beauty queen turned Sparkle star! Ahtisa Manalo is prepared to embark on her new journey as an actress.
Recently, Miss Universe Philippines 2025 and Miss Universe 3rd runner-up Ma. Ahtisa Manalo officially joined the roster of stars under the care of Sparkle GMA Artist Center.
Ahtisa signed her contract with the Kapuso talent management arm, marking her formal entry into show business, where she will be co-managed by Sparkle and Empire Artist Management.
“Even before I signed, I already felt the love and care from GMA. A little bit of information, I was supposed to sign last year but I decided to do Miss Universe Philippines. It feels right to be here now at this time,” Ahtisa shared during her contract signing.
Just days after her contract signing, the beauty queen immediately dove into a workshop to sharpen her acting skills.
In an Instagram post by Sparkle Workshops, they shared a video showing Ahtisa appearing disciplined, focused, and listening intently to acting coach Ana Feleo.
“Newly signed artist Ahtisa Manalo has begun her first acting journey with Ms. Ana Feleo at Sparkle GMA Artist Center,” written in the caption of the said post.
In the video, Ahtisa's determination and eagerness to learn a new field, stepping outside her comfort zone after over 18 years in pageantry, are clearly visible.
The beauty queen also appeared to be enjoying her first session of acting workshops.
It can be recalled that during her Sparkle contract signing, she mentioned how this feels like “perfect timing” to discover new opportunities and explore new horizons as her pageantry journey comes to a close.
“It feels like the perfect timing because now I'm opening my doors to opportunities and new things because tapos na 'ko sa pageant journey ko. I can't ask for a better family than GMA. Thank you so much,” Ahtisa said.
As she enters the world of show business, specifically as a Sparkle star, many are also waiting to see if there is any truth to the rumors that Ahtisa will join the Kapuso superserye Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre.
Her name has been frequently linked to the character of “Bathalumang Haliya.”
However, there is still no official confirmation regarding this from the people behind the Kapuso series.
