Roxie Smith

Miss Universe Philippines Baguio Roxie Smith shared the one thing she will take from fellow beauty queens Michelle Dee and Catriona Gray.

Sparkle talent and current reigning Miss Universe Philippines Baguio Roxie Smith is set to start yet another pageant journey, but she isn't embarking on it without taking some inspiration from another Kapuso beauty queen that came before her.

Roxie told GMANetwork.com at the sidelines of her crowning and sashing event at The Proscenium in Rockwell, Makati that there is one thing she's taking from fellow Kapuso beauty queen Michelle Dee, as well as from former Miss Universe Catriona Gray, who she is colleagues with at Cornerstone Entertainment.

“Definitely, the lesson is that you are allowed more than just one dream, because these are women who did it all. They pursued everything that they set their minds and hearts to, and that's the biggest take I could get from them,” she shared. “It inspired me to actually be able to go forth and remind myself that I could do it as well. I can have multiple dreams and it is limitless.”

Roxie's crowning and sashing event at the Proscenium in Rockwell was attended by former Miss Universe Philippines Baguio Gwendoline Meliz Soriano and Miss Universe Philippines Baguio director Pablo Soledad. Hosting the event was Roxie's fellow Sparkle talent, Kaloy Tingcungco.

The Kapuso star will be competing under the name Roxie Baeyens, and in an interview with GMA Integrated News shared that she was grateful for the opportunity to represent Baguio, calling it “a dream always planted” in her heart that she is now happy to pursue. She also explained that she is competing now because “it all aligned” and this is now her year to shine.

Roxie is also one of the multiple beauty queens that are part of GMA Network's Sparkle GMA Artist Center. Other beauty queens that are also Kapuso include former Miss World Megan Young, Gazini Ganados, and Beatrice Luigi Gomez, just to name a few.

She will be competing for the crown currently with Miss Universe Philippines 2025 Ahtisa Manalo, who finished as third runner-up during the Miss Universe 2025 pageant held in Thailand.

Roxie has previously competed and won the Miss Philippines Earth pageant during the pandemic and was named Miss Earth Water during the 2020 pageant.
