Kitang-kita ang tagal ng pinagsamahan, pati na ang malalim na pagkakaibigan ni Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid at ng kanyang longtime collaborator at brother-in-law na si Raul Mitra. 

Matapos kasi ang 30th anniversary concert ni Regine na pinamagatang R3.0, isang emosyonal na mensahe ang ibinahagi ni Raul sa kanyang Instagram account.

"Let me add to the accolades and tribute to Regine since you deserve it. You deserve it all, because you were SUCH a good girl! You went against that trademark Velasquez stubbornness, and you did what you needed to do in order to sing for two nights what a 20-year-old Regine would have found a challenge to sing. 

I know it wasn't easy for you. Someone who reached your heights shouldn't have to do anything different, let alone listen to some new, punk-ass-up-&-coming director half our age...but you did. You could see his talent and you listened. You listened to your doctors, your coach, your manager. That's why I'm proud of you, even though you keep saying you’re proud of me.

Thank you for your kind words during the last show, but it was unnecessary. I've always known the criticism that would be thrown my way once I accepted the help that you so generously extend to so many. But honestly, it never really bothered me as long as your star doesn't dim while under my watch. It is a source of pride for me that it has been the opposite, and your star is brighter than it has ever been. 

And I think maybe the main reason everyone feels like it was your best concert ever, wasn't because you sounded the best ever.. because you didn't, unlike some of your flawless performances in the past…but because it WAS a little flawed. They finally saw you the way Cacai and I see you…human. Not perfect. You sang almost like you swam across the channel without a life vest…climbed to the mountain peak without a tightrope. You persevered, and when the high notes came out sounding even higher than it ever has, everyone in the Arena felt that triumph. 

Congratulations on a job well done!
