A Christmas tree is the ultimate symbol of Christmas. The celebration just seem incomplete without having any kind of Christmas tree in your home or wherever you may be celebrating.
Christmas balls and poinsettia are the default ornaments people use to beautify their trees. But after you've tried all colors and color combinations, you'll eventually want something new to decorate your tree with.
It can be quite challenging to come up with new design themes or ornaments for your tree every year.
So, if you still haven't put up your tree yet or you plan on adding more ornaments to it to make it look and feel more festive, why don't you try making your very own Christmas tree ornaments this year?
Not only will do-it-yourself (DIY) ornaments add more life and color to your tree, but they also add a more personal touch to your holiday decorations.
Mars Pa More host Camille Prats recently demonstrated how to make DIY Christmas tree ornaments using popsicle sticks.
If you want to try it, below are the materials you'll need and the steps how to make it.
Materials:
Glue
Scissors
Colored popsicle sticks
Ruler
Pen
Colored papers
Pompoms
Jute string
Steps:
1. Glue popsicle sticks together to form a Christmas tree.
2. Cut a portion of the jute string and glue it to the top of the Christmas tree-shaped ornament.
3. Draw a rectangle on the colored paper and cut it out.
4. Glue it to the base of your Christmas tree ornament.
5. Cut the pompoms and glue it to the sides of the tree ornament.
6. Draw a star on the colored paper and cut it out.
7. Glue it to the top of the tree ornament, near where you glued the jute string earlier.
What's good about these DIY tree ornaments is that you can customize them to your liking. You can definitely opt to put more embellishments to it.
You can either add more pompoms or more cut-out designs from colored papers or use a different material altogether.
Plus, this can also be a great bonding moment that you can have with your kids. Not only will it keep them busy and entertained, but they'll also be able to use their creativity.
