David Kim revealed one of the things he would tell his younger self if he could go back in time during his Facebook live with My Korean Jagiya co-actors Alexander Lee and Myke Solomon via GMA Network's ArtisTambayan.
Their translator, Sarang, explained David's story: "When he was in his teens pa, actually gusto niya maging member ng boy band. He wants to sing and dance. So, nabigyan siya ng pagkakataon mag-audition for this agency, SM Entertainment. So, he had the chance pero hindi siya pumunta. 'Yung best friend niya lang ang pumunta, nakuha ['yung best friend niya], and he [became] a member of a very very famous Korean band, H.O.T."
H.O.T. debuted back in 1996 under SM Entertainment, home of popular acts such as TVXQ, Super Junior, Girl's Generation, SHINee, and EXO, among others. H.O.T., composed of members Moon Hee-joon, Jang Woo-hyuk, Tony Ahn, Kangta, and Lee Jae-won was also one of the most successful boy groups at that time.
David might have not pursued his boy band career, but instead his years in show business leaned mostly towards acting. The actor starred in several Korean dramas such as IRIS 2, Unstoppable Marriage, and Couple or Trouble, among others.
This year, David Kim will be portraying Alexander Lee's brother in the first-ever "Ko-Pino" drama My Korean Jagiya, set to premiere this August 21 after Mulawin VS Ravena.
